Developmental Disabilities Services
Developmental Disabilities Services
Claratel Behavioral Health is dedicated to improving the health and independence of people with disabilities.
We provide various educational, therapeutic, and behavioral support services to individuals ages 21 and up and their families.
Our programs provide opportunities for individuals to maximize their independence, increase their skills, and live meaningful lives.
Developmental Disabilities Residential
Claratel Behavioral Health offers two living options for adults with developmental disabilities—Community Residential Alternative and Community Living Services.

Community Residential Alternative (CRA)
For Community Residential Alternative services, we offer shared living homes in neighborhoods across DeKalb County. These homes consist of three to four people residing together with a similar level of support needs. Services are 24/7 and consist of coaching and supporting people with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, meal support, medical care and transportation, and community involvement.

Community Living Services (CLS)
For individuals who reside either in their family home or who live independently in their own home or apartment, we provide Community Living Services. Hours and types of support provided are based on the needs and desires of the individuals and/or their family members. Areas of support might include but are not limited to, assistance with meals, shopping, personal hygiene, and community involvement.

Host Homes
A Host Home, also known as Life-Sharing, is a residential setting where an individual with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) lives with a supportive person or family in their private residence. This supportive caregiver is called a Host Home Provider. Together with the partnering agency, the Host Home Provider ensures that each individual placed in the home lives in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. The goal is for individuals to actively participate in daily life, make choices about how they live, and grow within their community. All individuals in the Host Home Program are supported through the Medicaid Comprehensive Waiver and have a dedicated team—including a State Support Coordinator and representatives from DBHDD—who work collaboratively to oversee their services and well-being.
