Individuals can receive an immediate evaluation to determine the treatment that would be the most helpful to them. Individuals admitted to the crisis residential unit can receive treatment for up to seven days. The DRCC also serves as an emergency receiving facility for involuntary commitment evaluations.
Co-responder Program (Mobile Crisis Services)
For the past thirty years, Claratel Behavioral Health and the DeKalb County Police Department have partnered to provide Mobile Crisis Unit services to the community. The Mobile Crisis Unit includes a licensed counselor and a police officer who intervenes and evaluates individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in the community. Claratel Co-responder teams have expanded to include the cities of Dunwoody, Doraville, Decatur, and Tucker.
